Primary Admissions

Primary admissions to our school are managed through the Hertfordshire Admissions Team, following the Fair Access Protocol.

As a general rule, admission is considered to be at the start of the autumn term following the end of compulsory Key Stage 1 education.  

Request for admissions during a school year will be considered at the time and will be subject to the same criteria as children transferring from Key Stage 1 schooling.

Longmeadow Primary School will admit children up to its standard number.  Once this number has been reached places will be allocated by reference to the following criteria:

A child will be admitted if:

• The age group into which the child lawfully enters has an average class size of less than 30
• The class size is more than 30, but the Head Teacher and the Governors agree that the class can be enlarged without adverse effect on the children already in that class

The School's published admissions number (PAN) is: 210

The capacity per year group is: 30

If you have moved, you can apply to change school during the school year.
You can also apply if you want your child to go to a different school.

Nursery Admissions for September  2026

**** for children born between 01/09/2022 - 31/08/2023 ****

We look forward to welcoming our new nursery intake in September 2026. However, on occasions, we are able to accept nursery admissions during the school year, so please do contact us if this is of interest to you.

Our nursery sessions are morning only. However, we also offer full-day places to parents in receipt of 30 hours funding.

Nursery admissions are managed by the school. If you are considering applying for a place, we would be delighted to show you around and give you a taste of what Longmeadow has to offer.
