We had a visit from Stevenage Fire department.
We were very lucky that the fire fighters came to school to show us their equipment they use. We were comparing equipment used during The Great Fire of London to what they use today. We found out that they use the hose to put the fires out whereas in The Great Fire of London they used buckets. We also found out that they can use sand to put out fire.
In the fire engine we saw that they have a range of different size hoses and at the back of the engine they have taps which let the water out from the engine. We also got to see the cutters they use to help rescue people. On top of the engine we could see the ladders.
Yellow class really enjoyed their visit.
