Christmas Day Truce - 1914.
The children came 'over the top,' waving their hands and white flags, to call a truce.
The children made friends with their 'enemies,' and shared biscuits, drinks and games. This was just like the World War I truce on Christmas Day 1914, where the soldiers shared chocolate, drinks and stories of home. They also played a game of football. The truce was abruptly ended, when generals on both sides, called a halt to the game.
