Year 6 blog

Friday 25th September

We have had another mega busy week in Year 6!

Our week started by becoming investigators and looking for clues around a mysterious incident that had happened to the pagoda. The pagoda was covered in leaves and lily pads and a mysterious slime! We noted clues and then looked at an animated version of the story Tuesday by David Weisner where at 8pm frogs mysteriously begin flying across town on their lily pads. This inspired us to create poetry and write non-chronological report on humans from the perspective of frogs.

In Maths we refreshed our understanding of negative numbers and looked at rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and beyond.

Our science work gave us the opportunity to learn about the way the Moon orbits around Earth as well as the different phases of the moon.
