Cracking co-ordinates
This week, we have been learning all about co-ordinates.
We learnt that you need to read or plot the X axis first, then the y axis. We can remember this by the saying 'a baby learn to crawl before it can walk' or 'along the corridor and up the stairs'. Can you see us plotting co-ordinates with humans? We learnt that you can have 4 quadrants too, where you use minus numbers as well as positive numbers. We used co-ordinates when we learnt about translating a shape. We gave instructions like 'up 2, left 4' to translate a shape to a new position on the co-ordinate grid. Finally, we played battleships. "I won against Grace," cheered Zak.
