Turquoise class have been exploring their own shadows this week!
We have been learning about light in Science this half term. We have been talking about shadows and have learnt that a shadow is formed when an object blocks the light.
We decided to investigate how our shadows changed during a day and so we went out onto the playground and drew around our shadows. We needed to make sure it was a fair test and only change one thing (the time)! We made some predictions about what would happen to the shadows.
We were very surprised to find that our shadows got smaller towards the middle of the day and then grew again after lunchtime. We noticed that the sun was in different positions at these times too!
Here are some pictures of us investigating our shadow and measuring them!
