Exploring Romania
This week we have really enjoyed learning about Romania.
We searched some facts on the internet and found out that the capital of Romania is Bucharest. Romania has a population of just under 20 million people which is less than half of the population of England.
In Sapphire class, we are very lucky because we have four children who can speak Romanian. This week, those children have taken on the role of the teacher and taught us some key phrases. We learnt to say hello, ask how somebody is and introduce ourselves in Romanian. We absolutely loved learning a new language and having a friend teach us made it much more fun.
Today we hosted our own Romanian morning and loved having some parents join us to share the facts with and design our own traditional plates. This afternoon we practiced some Romanian folk dancing and had lots of fun working in our groups.
Next week we will get to try some traditional Romanian foods which we are all looking forward to.
Thank you to all of the parents who came and supported us!
